WebMay 6, 2024 · According to Fuel Economy of the 2024 BMW X3 xDrive30e, it will take 56 kWh OR 4.2 gal for my X30e to drive 100 miles. I live in NorCal. Electricity cost: 56 kwh x ~$0.25 = $14. Gas cost: 4.2 gal x ~$3.5 = $14.7. So electricity isn't strictly much cheaper.

That is, just get a bare tire and throw it in the trunk. Then, presumably, if you get a flat 50 miles from some little rural town, you can at least limp into the small town tire store with your fancy $300 tire in the trunk; hopefully, they'll have the tools and the know-how to properly mount it.
