Hot jupiter temperature
Web21 feb 2024 · The night side ranged from 1,800 K at its deepest layer, to 1,500 K in its upper atmosphere. Interestingly, temperature profiles appeared to flip-flop, rising with altitude on the day side — a “thermal inversion,” in meteorological terms — and dropping with altitude on the night side. WebWe study how the deviation between 3.6 and 4.5 μm changes with theoretical predictions with equilibrium temperature and incoming stellar irradiation. We reveal a clear transition in the observed emission spectra of the hot Jupiter population at 1660 ± 100 K in the zero albedo, full redistribution equilibrium temperature.

Temperature and velocity fields at 0.02 bar are shown in Fig. 1, Top Right, and the zonal-mean zonal velocity is shown in Fig. 1, Bottom Right. This atmosphere has the same key features as the terrestrial case, despite its much higher temperature, larger size, and faster rotation rate.
